This story is a tear jerker. I'm just reciting this from what I heard. At church Sister Hucks told us a talk that her sister-in-law, Katie, gave at church about her three favorite Christmas's. The third one was my favorite.
Her name is Katie. Every year her family saved up a bunch of money and one child would find a family struggling to use the money to help them. They would buy things they needed, paid their debts, bills, car repairs, or anything else. Secretly. Katie was the youngest in her family and it was her year to find a family in need. About a year or two ago, when she was about 18-19 yrs., there was an accident. A motorcycle was driving into the freeway and the motocyclist was pulled under a Semi and died. Katie's brother-in-law, James, had a tow company and was called to help. When he got there he found the man dead and almost went into shock. It was his wife's and Katie's cousin, Bradley. The whole family was devasted. He left behind his two little boys and his wife, four months pregnant with their first girl. On the Fourth of July, Katie talked to her cousin's wife. She held her while she cried on her shoulder. At that moment Katie had a feeling that her family should help her cousin's family that year.
Katie's family saved up and she asked her Aunt what her cousin needed. She needed snow boots for her little boys and a rocking chair for when the baby arrived. She also needed special lights for her photography business she needed to start to provide for her family. Katie's family bought the items needed and snuck into her cousin's house, set the snow boots, rocking chair, money for groceries, and money for the lights by the tree and left. Secretly. When her cousin walked in she fell on the floor crying. She sat on her mother's lap sobbing because of the miracle that had just happened.
